My name is Annette Jordan. I am MISS LAKE ARROWHEAD USA a contestant in the Miss California USA Pageant.
BIO:
I have lived in sunny, beautiful California my entire life. I am a college senior at Biola University, with an emphasis in Interdisciplinary Mass Communications at Biola University in La Mirada, California. My plan is to graduate this May 2010. The town I am representing, Lake Arrowhead is my home. The community had a influential impact on my development and the foundations of much of my life experiences. Growing up in a small town where everybody knows everybody, brings interpersonal communication to a whole new level. So, I am more then proud to wear there name on my sash.
My heart and focus of advocacy lies with the foster youth of this country. The statistics scare me. Therefore, being a former foster youth myself, I understand the struggle and hope to use my story to inspire those who are aging out of the system that there greatest resource is to learn how to receive love, because its that medicine of agape love alone that works. I am a product of it. I once read, that Love builds bridges where there are none. Thus while some biological cards might not have been in the deck for any child, The opportunity is available to simply play a different game with the same cards.
I love all forms of media, and understand its importance in changing lives. I am an aspiring webcaster. In the next five years, I hope to be hosting a webshow, that reaches the hearts and minds of people all over the globe to inspiration conversation that is transformational in each of my viewers lives.
Living in Los Angles County has been a rewarding experience making my resume grow with every opportunity. I have had a few television debuts, which qualified me for entrance into the Screen Actors Guild. In 2005, I appeared on the Tyra Banks show as an underwear model. I also worked as a script reader for the company that produced the feature film Freedom Writers. This past summer, I was on an episode of the television series Woman Behind Bars, and provided ice-skating stunt work on the Hallmark made for television movie Ice Dreams. I also trophy hosted the past three years for the prestigious ANNIE Animation Awards, and look forward to many more shows to come. In my free time, I love to salsa dance, read, hang out with friends and meet new ones. It doesn’t take much for activity to spark my interest, whether that be climbing tress, ultimate frizbee, swimming, playing video games, going on walks in the park, hikes down trails, or playing board games in the comfort of my own home as long as its with fun-loving people.
The contest is on November 21-22, 2009, airing live on Sunday on NBC. Tickets are available at www.startickets.com. I hope to stand on that stage woman with nothing less then grace, style and intelligence that I am know for. Also, the to encourage all young girls who watch to aspire to reign as a Queen in her own right no matter the challenges life brings, whether that be social, economic, emotional. There is no wall to daunting, you only have to start removing bricks.
